Our mission is to create a space where LGBTQ+ individuals and allies can:
- Form meaningful friendships and connections
- Learn from each other through conversation, shared experiences, and curated programming
- Support LGBTQ+ businesses, grassroots organizations, and independent creators
- Show up with intention, empathy, and authenticity

For many LGBTQ+ people, there are still very few places created specifically for finding friendship outside of dating apps or nightlife. Even in a world where technology keeps us more connected than ever, loneliness and isolation can feel more present than ever too.
The Amistara is actively changing that. Thoughtful conversation starters help neighbors move beyond small talk and get to know one another beneath the surface. An inclusive, queer-centered space makes room for everyone to show up safely and fully as themselves.

Kirstie Nicole.
I created The Amistara because I was craving a kind of connection that felt slower, safer, and more human. After years of building community online through storytelling, travel, and LGBTQ+ advocacy, I started to feel the weight of platforms that prioritize performance, doomscrolling, and algorithms over people.
The Amistara was born from a simple belief: we are all more alike than we are different. When we take the time to learn each other’s stories, we become more compassionate, more curious, and more willing to care for one another. Community isn’t built through virality, it’s built through presence.
This space matters deeply to me because it’s the kind of place I was looking for myself. A neighborhood grounded in mutual respect, shared learning, and real connection. I’m so grateful you’re here, and I’m excited to build a community for us, by us. Welcome home.
